Discover Anise Pho

Located at 222 Glenwood Ave #113, Raleigh, NC 27603, Anise Pho offers a delightful dive into the rich flavors of Vietnamese cuisine, especially for those craving a bowl of aromatic pho. Whether you’re a local or visiting the area, this restaurant is a must-visit spot for anyone who appreciates authentic Vietnamese food.

As soon as you walk through the door of Anise Pho, you're greeted by the comforting smell of broth simmering on the stove. Pho, a dish made of broth, noodles, and meat, is the star of the show here, but the menu offers a variety of other Vietnamese dishes too, ensuring there's something for everyone. The warm, casual atmosphere makes it the perfect spot to enjoy a meal alone or with friends, and the friendly staff always add to the experience, making you feel like part of the family.

The pho at Anise Pho is consistently praised for its deep, flavorful broth that perfectly balances spices, herbs, and savory goodness. It's clear that the chefs here take their time crafting the perfect pho broth. Many customers mention that the broth alone is what keeps them coming back. The rich, aromatic broth pairs wonderfully with the tender cuts of beef or chicken, with options for rare beef, brisket, or even tendon, offering a wide range of tastes for any pho enthusiast.

What sets Anise Pho apart is not just the pho itself, but the careful attention given to each dish. Take the Vietnamese spring rolls, for example. Light and fresh, they’re filled with a combination of shrimp, pork, or tofu and are served with a homemade peanut dipping sauce that adds just the right amount of sweetness and crunch. The quality of ingredients shines through in every bite.

Beyond pho, the menu also features several other authentic Vietnamese dishes like Bánh mì sandwiches, banh xeo (Vietnamese pancakes), and a variety of rice plates, all seasoned and prepared to order. The Bánh mì sandwich, in particular, is a fan favorite-crispy baguette, fresh veggies, and savory meats create a flavor explosion that’s hard to beat.

The restaurant's location on Glenwood Ave is another advantage. It’s nestled in a bustling area of Raleigh, making it a great spot to grab a bite whether you're exploring the city or simply looking for a relaxing place to have a meal. Customers love the convenience of being able to park easily, and many appreciate the modern yet cozy atmosphere.

Another reason why Anise Pho is a standout choice in Raleigh is its commitment to providing authentic flavors. It's evident that the restaurant stays true to Vietnamese culinary traditions, offering a taste of Vietnam's street food culture right in the heart of North Carolina. The passion for food is felt in the carefully prepared dishes, each of which showcases traditional Vietnamese flavors and ingredients.

For those new to Vietnamese cuisine, Anise Pho offers a welcoming environment and a chance to try new dishes without feeling overwhelmed. The staff is always ready to explain the different menu options and make suggestions based on your preferences, whether you're after something spicy, mild, or vegetarian.

What’s also worth noting is that Anise Pho is highly rated by customers, who rave about not just the quality of the food but the service as well. The restaurant has garnered a loyal following, with many sharing their love for the dishes on online reviews. It’s not uncommon to see regulars dropping by frequently, especially for the pho and spring rolls, which have become a staple in many local's lunch or dinner rotations.

If you’re in Raleigh and looking for an authentic Vietnamese meal that doesn’t compromise on flavor, Anise Pho should definitely be on your list. With its unbeatable pho, diverse menu options, and warm atmosphere, it’s a perfect place to enjoy a comforting meal. Whether you're a pho lover or a first-timer, there's something about Anise Pho that’ll keep you coming back for more.

  • This is the best pho broth I have ever had. I am from out of state and was not expecting too much since I work at a pho restaurant back home but love trying my favorites in new places. The broth was flavorful and delicious, lots of noodles! Price was great- make this a stop.

  • this is the first vietnamese restaurant i tried in raleigh and it was great! we ordered pho dac biet (special combo), pho ga (chicken), and fried tofu. the beef pho was flavorful and aromatic. it was a generous portion for $16. otherwise $14 for one protein choice. the chicken pho was just okay for me. not as flavorful as the beef pho. the fried tofu was a great appetizer. lots of tofu for only $5. the restaurant is on the small side but that’s what you expect in a downtown restaurant. would definitely come back in the future!

  • All items I tried were very good and the broth was very delicious. Highly recommend visiting this place if your in the area. It does have limited seating so be aware.

  • They let me dine with 30 minutes to close which was really nice. Pork bbq bap buns was really good. Just wish there was more meat in them. Got the $17 beef pho and it was really good. Very flavorful broth and the ham inside was interesting. I really enjoyed my meal

  • Cute little restaurant. We had chicken pho and spicy beef pho. It was delicious! They served us a plate with lime, bean sprouts, and spicy chili oil as well. The table had plenty of napkins and some extra sauces (soy sauce and sriracha). It was a lovely experience and I will happily come back. The broth was flavorful, noodles were perfect, and meat was cooked well. Only warning is that it’s a small place so if you plan to bring a lot of people, might want to call ahead to make sure they have capacity. Overall absolutely so happy we tried this restaurant! We tried it because it was recommended to me and I’m so glad we did.
